Remote Desktop App TeamViewer Touch Comes To Windows 8

Remote desktop applications are a great way to diagnose and solve problems on other computers over the internet. Remote access can be of multiple types; some connections allow you to just view the desktop screen, and whatever is happening on it, while others equip you with the ability to control almost all the aspects of a remote computer, letting you access different software, open menus, and perform actions as if you’re physically present in front of it. People who frequently have to deal with complex computer issues can benefit from such solutions by providing remote access to someone who knows how to fix such problems. One of the most famous remote desktop solutions out there is TeamViewer, which is currently available for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. Using TeamViewer, you can remotely control your computer from any Teamviewer-configured system. Today, TeamViewer has released the preview version of TeamViewer Touch, a Modern UI app that will allow you to remotely control computers from your Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT-powered devices.
In order to get TeamViewer Touch, go to Windows Store, use Win+Q hotkey to bring up Search Charms. Now, type “teamviewer touch” and press enter. From the search results, choose the tile named TeamViewer Touch to open its in-Store page.

Once you have entered the ID, you will need a password to complete the authentication process.

As soon as you enter the password, it starts establishing a remote connection with the computer. You now have access to every element of the remote system. It lets you gain complete control over the remote computer by allowing you to execute applications and make changes to different system settings.

What O&O Clever Cache does ?
If a computer is used without interruption for longer periods, slower answering times of applications will occur. Just run O&O CleverCache 7, the app automatically monitors your PC use and system cache. When it detects that your cache holds data without reason,CleverCache frees the data, giving you more RAM to run your programs.

O&O CleverCache makes sure that the file cache is reset while the computer’s running: something that otherwise usually requires a restart of the computer.

O&O CleverCache prevents those infamous program and application “freezes” where usually only closing the program with the Windows Task Manager can help. Simply install O&O CleverCache and let it take care of your compute memory management.

How to Get Chrome-like Browser Based PDF Viewer in the New Firefox

I hardly ditch Chrome for Firefox or Opera but whenever I do (usually due to technical reasons), I often come out with new and helpful stuff. And this time it’s about reading PDF files in Firefox using the inbuilt PDF reader. Yes, it’s a new feature. Read on to know more.
Mozilla-Firefox
If you have used the last few builds of Chrome, you might have noticed how PDF files open up in the browser itself. This integration makes sure that your workflow doesn’t break while switching from one application to another and also helps in memory management.
Firefox 15 and above come with an integrated PDF reader but it’s disabled by default. Today I am going to show you how you can enable it and open all the PDF files in the browser instead of downloading and opening them using a third-party tool.

Enabling Inbuilt PDF Reader in Firefox

Step 1: Open Firefox on your computer, type about:config in the address bar and press enter. Firefox will give you a warranty void warning when you open the address. Click on the button, I’ll be careful I promise and proceed.
about config
Step 2: In the about:config page, search for pdfjs.disabled. The search result will return single preference name you queried for.
pdf disabled.
Step 3: The value of the preference will be true by default. Double click on it and toggle it tofalse.
You many now restart your browser and try to open a PDF file. It should now open in a new Firefox tab itself. But if it doesn’t work, here’s a list of troubleshooting steps.
sample PDF Reader

Few things that might come in the way

After enabling the inbuilt PDF reader, you will be able to open and read all the PDF files in the browser but sometimes they fail to open. Here are a few things that might come in your way.

Download Accelerators

download manager PDF
Many download accelerators are programmed to automatically catch some regular files from the browsers (like apps, documents and media) and show you the download now dialog box to you. In such cases, you will have to disable PDF file type in those program options.

PDF Reader Plugins

add on
When you install a PDF reader in your computer, most of them integrate themselves as an add-on to Firefox browsers. To disable them, click on the Firefox button and open Add-on Manager. In the Add-on list, simply disable the PDF tool that manages your PDF files in Firefox and restart your browser.

Conclusion

That’s all, you should now be able to read all the PDF files using the inbuilt Firefox PDF reader. Have a question in mind? Post a comment and we will try to address it.

Batch File Copier for Windows

There are many alternatives to Windows Explorer file copy, move operations and just like other players, Ultracopier is also an app to make the file copy and move operations easier. Until the release of Windows 8, there was not much features offered in file copy. But in Windows 8,additional features have been added, but it lacks in many.

Ultracopier is an advanced and yet easy-to-use application, designed to enable users to copy or move files and folders with a few clicks. Ultracopier adds the possibility to pause and resume the transfer, control the copy speed, queue up new jobs and complete the task despite any error encountered.

To start the process, you can add a new Copy, transfer or move request from the system tray. It will ask for the from folder and then you need to specify the to folder. Once set, the copy or transfer process starts. It shows the list of files being copied and also their speed of copy. By default, the application is set to automatically replace Windows’ file copy/move functionality. But for this you will need to restart Windows Explorer once you have installed the app.

It works with all devices: hard drives, USB drives, CD and DVDs.
